Once there was a monk living in a monastery, he was charged with the construction of a brick wall, since monks in general have to do everything and anything by themselves because of the lack of funds. So off he went, laying brick by brick, smearing the slabs with self-prepared cement, slapping bricks in line, one by one. Finally, after some time, he was done.
But when he stood back to admire his handiwork, he was shocked to discover that a single brick was out of alignment and jutted out slightly of the otherwise perfectly built wall. He was so disappointed with himself and started to grumble and looked very disgruntled. He sat down right in front of the wall, and looked like the world was about to end the very next day.
Then the head monk happened to pass by that particular part of the monastery that day, and saw that the wall was completed. He said to the disgruntled monk, " That is a very nicely built wall!" To which the little monk looked up in surprise, and said " Your Excellency, pardon me, but don't you notice this particular part that destroyed this otherwise perfectly built wall?"
The head monk smiled and said to him, "Little apprentice, why do you narrow your mind so? Don't you see that out of 100% of this wall, 99% of it is perfectly built? Why do you harbour such ill feelings because of this minimal imperfection?"
The monk suddenly saw the truth in the words of the head monk, and bowed his head in deep respect.
Moral of the story : I guess I don't need to say it out loud here.
